September 2011: Back Home, Surprise!

Hi, =) I'm back in KL again. [What the hell? So fast?]

Cause I've been on high fever which refused to subside. Till my eyes turned reddish like a Vampire.

So this is what happened, until I'm forced to return back to my home, away from my lessons.

On the night I arrived in my hostel, I started feeling feverish, but I ignored it and continue to attend my 8.00am Lab. I started to develop high fever so I went to see the doctor. Thinking it was a normal fever, the doctor prescribed to me the basic medication.

1. Paracetamol [First stage fever relief]
2. Vitamin C [Boost Immunity]
3. Something to stop my vomitting

After eating medicine, I went to Statistics class and my fever suddenly got worst again. After class, I went back to sleep. My fever refused to cool down. And I started to get worried. Called my friend to accompany me to see the doctor in the clinic again. They gave me a bag of IV Drip and some injection to boost my immunity and changed my precription to:

1. Pontalon [Second stage fever relief and painkiller]
2. Flanil [For body and muscle ache]
3. Some antibiotics

The doctor gave me an advice to eat rice, take bath with cold water especially my hair. When we got back at the hostel, Fong Ling cooked porridge for me to eat cause I didn't eat for the whole day due to loss of appetite while I had my bath.

After eating I went back to sleep, and I can only remember I drank so much water till I wanted to vomit. My head was spinning and some much in pain, I really thought I was going to die. The experience was so mindfuckening. Nothing seems to cool down my fever. My roommates kept on wiping my body, gave me water, came to touch my forehead. I was burning with high fever.

My parents got so worried, they came down from KL last night [my father's actually sick, my mother's actually busy, which is the reason why I never informed them bout my fever earlier], sent me directly to an experience doctor who actually got pissed off at the medication given to me by these University doctors.

She diagnose me as "Chu Mou Tan" [Pig Fur Fever] in Cantonese or A.K.A Typhoid in English.

"Chu Mou Tan" to put it simple is high fever. But it resembles dengue in a way that our fever will fluctuate. If left too long, we can die. Even though it has subside, it can come back again to attack us if we take in the wrong food again. To play safe, we must take care of what we consume for 1 month. We cannot take bath [EWW], eat rice, IV drip is useless on Typhoid patients, cannot be given injection, or use normal medication methods to cure.

So she gave me a few unknown medicines which is kinda doing pretty well for me so far. My fever subside. Seriously mindfuckening shit. I don't ever want to go through that again.

Because of this, I have to catch up with 1 week worth of lessons by next week and Quiz and Lab report due on Monday. Sigh.
